discorso introduttivo a "Caribbean Wind" fatto da Bob in concerto

Questa è una chitarra a dodici corde. La prima volta che ho sentito una chitarra a dodici corde era suonata da Leadbelly, non so se avete mai sentito parlare di lui...
Ad ogni modo egli era in prigione, credo si trovasse in una Prigione federale del Texas ed ho dimenticato quale fosse il suo vero nome, ma la gente era solita chiamarlo semplicemente Leadbelly. (dal pubblico qualcuno grida: "HUDDIE LEADBETTER")
Egli è stato registrato da un uomo chiamato Alan Lomax, lo conoscete no? Ha fatto un mucchio di grandi cose per la musica. Ad ogni modo Lomax portò Leadbelly a New York e gli fece incidere un mucchio di canzoni lì...
All'inizio Leadbelly faceva solo prison songs (canzoni che parlavano di prigioni) e roba del genere.
Un altro che ha registrato roba di Leadbelly è stato Muddy Waters prima che Muddy Waters diventasse... (incomprensibile).
Ad ogni modo Leadbelly fece un sacco di canzoni del genere.
Egli era uscito di prigione da un pò quando decise di comporre canzoni per bambini e la gente disse: "Oh, perchè Leadbelly ha cambiato stile?".
Ad alcuni piacciono le vecchie canzoni di Leadbelly e ad altri piacciono le nuove.
Alcuni amano sia le vecchie che le nuove.
Ma lui non era cambiato, era sempre lo stesso uomo!
Ad ogni modo, questa canzone è chiamata... E' una canzone che io ho scritto tempo fa. Provo a farla come meglio mi viene.
C'è qualcuno importante qui stasera che vuole ascoltarla, perciò faremo del nostro meglio...

was played by Leadbelly, don't know if you've heard of him?
Anyway, he was a prisoner in, I guess it was Texas State Prison, and I forgot what his real name was but people just used to call him Leadbelly.

He was recorded by a man named Alan Lomax, don't know if you've heard of him?
He's done a lot of great things for music.
Anyway he got Leadbelly out and brought him up to New York.
And he made a lot of records there.
At first he was just doing prison songs and stuff like that.
Same man that recorded him also recorded Muddy Waters before
Muddy Waters became ... (incomprensibile).
Anyway Leadbelly did most of those kind of songs.
He'd been out of prison for some time when he decided to do children's songs and people said oh, why did Leadbelly change?
Some people like the old songs some people like the new ones.
Some people liked both songs.
But he didn't change, he was the same man!
Anyway this is a song called ..., It's a song I wrote a while back.
I'm gonna try and do it as good as I can.
